Beauty - Make up
In the summer before college, like the big girl I thought I was, I took myself to MAC to spend my parent’s monies on art supplies for my face. I knew absolutely nothing about make up back then and didn’t realise foundations had different undertones, which meant I spent a couple of years wearing MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW45 – the completely wrong colour for me! Firstly it was far too dark, secondly it was too red. All I can say is, thank goodness for growth! Since then, my face painting skills have improved massively, and I now really enjoy experimenting with different colours and looks, so I thought I’d share one with you today!
With the weather improving I decided to incorporate a little colour into this eye look. Much like this look, I tend not to plan my make up ahead of time. Unless there’s an occasion, I usually have no idea what my make-up is going to look like until it’s finished. I tend to draw inspiration from a number of different sources, be it my outfit, the weather, my mood or even the music I’m listening to at the time. Although admittedly after years of trial and error I have figured out what typically will and will not work for me.
As we’re stepping into spring I encourage you to experiment some colour and share your looks below. I can’t wait to see them!
Until next time,
Welcoming Spring
Over the years my relationship with makeup has evolved, from being something I once hid behind to now being a tool used to enhance what is already there. I only began wearing make-up when I stared college despite most of the girls I knew were already wearing makeup in high school. Whilst most of the girls in my high school spent their break times in the bathroom caking on layers of their Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, I could be found alongside then smothering my lips with lip balm. Had there been awards for awards for the most used lip balm, I would have been given one. I think it’s safe to say that I had the softest, shiniest lips in the entire school! Come to think of it there had been an occasion before college which I’d worn make up – my high school prom. Although, I wouldn’t say a dash of powder, tinted gloss and mascara counts as much. Now-a-days I wear more make up than that when I’m sporting a natural look.In the summer before college, like the big girl I thought I was, I took myself to MAC to spend my parent’s monies on art supplies for my face.
